🔍 Lost & Found Reporting: Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much does it cost to post a Lost or Found report?⬇️
2. What information should I include in my Lost Report?⬇️
To maximize your chances of a match, include as many specific details as possible. We recommend including:
- Item Type/Person’s Name: Clear and accurate identification.
- Last Known Location: The exact street, area, or landmark where it was lost.
- Date and Time: An estimated time frame of when the loss occurred.
- Unique Features: Any distinctive marks, colors, sizes, or serial numbers.
- High-Quality Photo: Uploading a clear photo significantly increases identification success.
3. How quickly will my report be published?⬇️
All Lost & Found reports are published immediately after submission. However, all reports are subject to a quick review by our moderators to ensure they comply with our site policies. You can start checking the opposite category (e.g., check ‘Found Reports’ if you posted a ‘Lost Report’) right away.
4. What should I do if I find a report that matches my lost item?⬇️
If you find a report that seems to match your lost item or person:
- Do Not Publish Personal Information Publicly.
- Use the Contact Information: Use the contact method (phone number or email) provided by the person who submitted the matching report.
- Confirm Details Privately: When you make contact, be ready to provide unique identifying details (like the serial number, specific contents, or a hidden feature) to the finder to prove ownership before arranging the retrieval.
5. Can I post a ‘Promotion’ or ‘Verified’ feature on a Lost & Found report?⬇️
The ‘Promotion’ and ‘Verified’ paid features are designed for commercial advertisements (buying, selling, or services) and are not applicable to the charitable Lost & Found section. Your report will receive visibility based on our standard, free sorting mechanism, ensuring fairness for all community members seeking help.
